[Hiring] Energy Storage Engineer @Vitaver

Role Description

The Energy Storage Engineer will support the design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects.

• Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency.
• Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.
• Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure clear communication, and propose solutions.
• Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
• Handle other assigned duties as needed.
• Travel 25% of the time for project specific duties.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting the design phase and engineering major components for large-scale energy storage projects.
• Active Driver License.

Requirements

• Preferred experience with Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction experience (3+ years).
• Experience in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.
• Experience with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
• Experience with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).
• Experience with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
