Role Description

Hiring for this position is still pending award of contract. This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

The IMAP Electrician is responsible for completing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance in accordance with the scope of work for their assigned team.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Attend the In-Brief Meeting on the first day at Post and assist in relaying the Team’s plans to complete their SOW.
  • Assist teammates in coordinating access to PCC and other secure locations.
  • Coordinate any outages required for maintenance or repairs during the visit.
  • Equipment within the team’s Electrical SOW may include:
    • Post Compound Grounding and Bonding Systems
    • Switchgear
    • Lightning Protection Systems
    • Main/Sub Distribution power panels
  • Review/document the integrity of all Lightning Protection systems.
  • Inspect and document all Switchgear breakers.
  • Augment the grounding/bonding systems for the compound to reduce elevated ground fault current.
  • Measure all phases of supply conductors to verify proper load balancing.
  • Verify proper torque/tightness of all electrical connections.
  • Conduct an IR scan of all conductors, breakers, and lug terminals to check for excessive operating temperatures.
  • Inspect conductors for damaged insulation, improper installation, size in relation to overcurrent protection, and compliance with all NFPA, NEC, and DoS/OBO Standards and Specifications.
  • Create an inventory of equipment within the Team’s SOW for Preventative Maintenance (PM).
  • Update the equipment inventory that the Team plans to PM during the visit.
  • Observe other electrical deficiencies not directly related to assigned equipment and document them for follow-up.
  • Print-out International Maintenance Assistance Program (IMAP) checklists for each piece of electrical equipment planned for PM.
  • Complete PM on each piece of equipment within the IMAP Statement of Work (SOW) as dictated by the appropriate checklist.
  • Fill out checklist for each piece of equipment PM’d and document comments and findings.
  • Identify corrective maintenance items and estimate time and materials required.
  • Verify with Post whether required parts are available or can be procured locally.
  • Complete approved corrective maintenance work and test equipment for proper functionality.
  • Document unresolved issues on Remaining Deficiency worksheets.
  • Ensure all areas visited are properly cleaned and organized.
  • Wear proper Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times as dictated by NFPA guidelines.
  • Report and resolve any life, health, or safety issues discovered at Post.
  • Identify responsibilities for the final Service Report (SR) and complete that portion.
  • Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) for recommended spare parts, repair parts, and tools.
  • Work with Locally Employed Staff (LES) for on-the-job training while completing PM.
  • Conduct dedicated training for the LES if requested, and document attendance.
  • Communicate daily with teammates regarding work accomplished and any issues encountered.
  • Review all tickets, Electronic Country Clearances (eCC’s), and passports for accuracy.
  • Keep the FM informed of any issues encountered during the visit.
  • Attend an Out-Brief Meeting to relay results of the PM and corrective maintenance.
  • Review the equipment captured in the Global Maintenance Management System (GMMS) database for accuracy.
  • Review the GMMS PM schedule and checklists used for all equipment within your SOW.
  • Complete a Weekly Status Report documenting work completed and time spent.
  • Discuss concerns with teammates to plan around for the next break cycle.
  • Attend periodic meetings with your assigned Field Service Manager in Microsoft Teams (MS Teams).
  • Complete a weekly Trip Expense Report (TER) to document M&IE claimed and reimbursable expenses.
  • Document your time using Deltek or appropriate timekeeping software daily.
  • Stay up-to-date on all expectations and duties outlined in the Field Operations Manual.
  • Remain current on professional trade licenses and applicable building code revisions.
  • Complete a Danger Pay/Post Hardship Verification form if necessary.
  • Return any unneeded passports to the IMAP Travel Manager ASAP.
  • Report any failures of company issued equipment or Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) to IMAP Logistics support group.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Journeyman electrician license or equivalent at a State or Local Municipality level.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Must have the physical ability to travel overseas.
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination for duty.
  • Must be able to work on ladders, access rooftops, and lift/carry materials and tools in excess of 25 lbs.
  • Must be familiar with the requirements outlined by NFPA 70E, OSHA, and other safety regulations.
  • Must be proficient in using a computer to send email and use Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Requirements

  • Level 1: Requires at least 5-7 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Level 2: Requires at least 7-10 years of related experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Level 3: Requires at least 10+ years of related experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Level 4: Requires 10+ years of related experience as an Electrician and at least 1 year as an IMAP technician.
