[Hiring] Director of Engineering @TJM Labs

Role Description

TJM Labs is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering organization. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is technically credible, execution-focused, and takes ownership of results. You will develop a team of engineering managers and partner with senior leadership to turn company priorities into shipped outcomes.

• Lead, mentor, and grow engineering managers across multiple teams
• Set clear expectations for delivery, quality, and team health
• Own engineering execution, including planning, delivery predictability, and cross-team coordination
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, reliability, and production issues
• Define and track engineering effectiveness metrics, and improve how our teams build and ship, including through AI-assisted development
• Partner with Product, Operations, and customer-facing teams to align priorities
• Join customer conversations on complex integrations and technical escalations when needed

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant hands-on work
• 4+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers
• Experience leading multiple engineering teams in a fast-growing organization
• Strong background in backend and API services, third-party system integrations, and automation running in production
• Experience building or leading teams that build AI-powered products and automation
• Experience scaling an engineering organization through rapid growth
• Track record of improving delivery, accountability, and team performance
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including enterprise customers
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
