[Hiring] CAD Mechanical Design Engineering Manager @GE Vernova

Role Description

The CAD Mechanical Design Manager will support the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project for GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH). Provide leadership to a diverse technical team of dedicated engineers and scientists responsible for creating solid models and drawings of nuclear buildings using 3D modeling software and developing 2D/3D layouts in support of New Nuclear Plant Projects. This position will apply knowledge of design, modeling and drawing practices and guide your team to solve design issues with the Engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Nuclear or similar) from an accredited college or University
• Minimum 10 years of experience in technology or engineering role
• 3 years of experience with BWR or PWR reactors
• 3 years of experience Leading or Managing an Engineering Team

Requirements

• Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites occasionally (10% to 20%)
• For the US: Preferred work location at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; highly qualified remote candidates will be considered
• This role is restricted to U.S. persons due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology
• For Canada: GE Vernova will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening
• This position will report onsite to the Markham office 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Desired Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer – US, Canada
• Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations
• High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
• Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities
• Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change management)
• EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant
• Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
