[Hiring] CAD Detailer @Hyre

Role Description

The CAD Detailer will produce accurate detailed CAD drawings and shop drawings for fabrication and installation. This role requires close coordination with engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements, codes, and fabrication tolerances. The CAD Detailer will maintain drawing standards, manage revisions, and support production of material lists and fabrication data.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
• Take field measurements and create 2D/3D drawings.
• Use AutoCAD to develop drawings for commercial and residential roofing/sheet metal projects.
• Revise existing drawings based on client specifications.
• Manage computer files (DWG, DWF, PDF).
• Assist Project Managers and Engineers with pre-construction tasks as needed.
• Ensure constructability and code compliance: Review designs for issues and adhere to building codes and industry standards.
• Detail for weatherproofing and durability: Design connections and transitions for optimal roof performance.
• Facilitate communication: Provide clear drawings for construction and collaborate with project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Technical Degree or Certificate in Drafting or equivalent on-the-job training required.
• 2-5 years of related work experience is preferred.
• Proven proficiency using AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam Software and Microsoft Office products (proficient in Excel and Word).
• Prior experience in sheet metal detailing is a plus.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently.

Schedule & Work Arrangement

• Employment Type: Contractor.
• Hours: Full-time; availability during US business hours required.
• Flexibility: Occasional availability outside standard hours may be required.
• Status: Independent contractor; no company-provided equipment.
• This role does not include company-provided benefits or paid leave.
• Contractor is responsible for their own taxes and statutory contributions.
• Payments issued according to the company’s standard contractor payroll schedule.
