[Hiring] Authorising Engineer @OCS Group

Role Description

The Authorising Engineer ensures compliance with statutory and legislative requirements for electrical and mechanical systems. This involves:

• Developing and auditing Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
• Conducting risk-based technical audits to identify and address technical risks
• Providing technical support, mentorship, and assessment of Authorised Persons and Competent Persons
• Enhancing technical compliance and assurance by identifying improvement opportunities across all related technical disciplines

Additional responsibilities include:

• Providing technical assurance support to the account, supporting the Head of Engineering & Risk Management through the Senior Authorising Engineer (SAE)
• Developing, delivering, and maintaining the Technical and Safety Competency Management System (CMS)
• Conducting technical compliance audits in line with the assurance plan
• Providing Authorised Person support and technical expertise to support operational resilience
• Reviewing, developing, and maintaining Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
• Producing, reviewing, and maintaining technical assurance documentation
• Developing and communicating technical standards, guidance, and best practice documents
• Supporting the management and maintenance of technical assurance databases, registers, trackers, and reporting systems
• Assisting in the development, review, approval, and publication of technical communications
• Providing technical support for incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
• Technical auditing experience
• Ability to provide mentorship and assessment
• Strong communication skills
