[Hiring] Application Engineer @Thermal Works

Role Description

ThermalWorks has an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and eager to be part of an innovative company that’s on a journey to transform the world’s infrastructure. We are seeking an Application Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between ThermalWorks products and their projects.

• Review design drawings for accuracy and fit.
• Work with customer design engineers on equipment application.
• Support our estimating group with technical input.
• Provide engineering support to the project management team and ThermalWorks customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Review design drawings and submittals for cooling system application accuracy — equipment selection, capacity, and hydronic configuration.
• Interface with customer and consulting design engineers to assess and validate equipment application.
• Support the estimating group with equipment selections and technical scope input for accurate proposals.
• Provide engineering support to the project management team — technical questions, drawing conflicts, RFI and submittal responses.
• Support customers with application and technical questions through installation and startup.
• Feed field experience back into R&D and Product Development to improve products and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in cooling equipment application or design review.
• Expertise in data center cooling systems.
• Experience with chillers, CDUs, and liquid cooling for AI or hyperscale deployments.
• Applications engineering background at a cooling equipment manufacturer.

Specific Skills / Abilities

• Fluent in mechanical design documents, schedules, and hydronic schematics.
• Strong client communication skills — comfortable working directly with customer engineers and consultants.
