Role Description

We are seeking an Aerospace Solutions Engineer to support software development, engineering services, customer implementations, and mission-focused aerospace solutions. This role combines software development with an understanding of space systems, mission operations, and customer workflows. You will contribute to both internal development efforts and customer-facing projects, working across engineering, services, training, and delivery teams.

The position emphasizes solution development, workflow automation, technical support, integration, and customer success within aerospace domains utilizing tools such as Systems Tool Kit (STK), Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK), SWARM, and related mission analysis and operations platforms.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical problems, working directly with customers, and helping organizations improve mission planning, operations, training, and analysis workflows through software and engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SWARM applications, services, plugins, and integrations
• Support customer-driven development, customization, and deployment efforts
• Design and implement workflow automation solutions using SWARM
• Contribute to web, desktop, and backend systems
• Assist with technical demonstrations, prototypes, training events, and customer solutions
• Support post-sales technical efforts, including troubleshooting, enhancements, and operational support
• Collaborate across engineering, sales, services, training, and development teams
• Participate in customer engagements focused on mission analysis, operations, scheduling, and space domain awareness workflows
• Fully remote position with minimal travel

Qualifications

• Experience with one or more: C#, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go
• Familiarity with GitHub workflows (PRs, branching, version control)
• Experience with:
  • APIs / web services
  • SQL / data handling
  • Docker or containerization
  • Frontend frameworks (React or similar) or desktop development (WPF)
  • Exposure to Azure or similar cloud platforms
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work across a diverse technical stack
• Ability to work directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions

Requirements

• Understanding of space domain concepts, such as:
  • Orbital mechanics and orbit types
  • Satellite operations and mission workflows
  • Space system architectures
  • Space Domain Awareness (SDA/SSA)
  • Mission planning and scheduling concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SWARM
• Experience with aerospace/simulation tools such as STK or ODTK
• Exposure to SSA / SDA systems (e.g., ODSSA, SEG, SSA Suite)
• Familiarity with:
  • Mission analysis
  • Trajectory design
  • Orbit determination
  • Scheduling and tasking systems
  • Operational planning workflows
• Background in:
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Astrodynamics
  • Physics or related field (degree or equivalent experience)
• Experience with Cesium
• AI/ML familiarity applied to engineering or analytics workflows
• Active security clearance preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is beneficial

Role Details

• Location: Fully Remote
• Employment Type: Full-Time Employee
• Hours: 40 hours/week (flexible; must support core and occasional extended hours)
• Travel: 0-3 times per year
