Role Description

We are excited to welcome a facilitator to deliver synchronous sessions for the Personal and Professional Development (PPD) Skills Certificate at Stenberg College. The PPD program introduces students to foundational skills in equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigeneity (EDII). This role will focus specifically on Module 5: Responding to Anti-Indigenous Racism.

The facilitator will provide students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion, apply knowledge through case studies, and learn directly from an Indigenous professional with lived experience.

  • Location: Remote / Work from Home
  • Employment Type: Contract
  • Schedule: 1.5 hours of workshop delivery, plus 30 minutes of preparation time per session
  • Start Date: As early as September, 2026
  • Compensation: $200 per PPD 5 workshop session ($150 for 1.5 hours of delivery + $50 for 30 minutes of preparation)

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Module 5: Responding to Anti-Indigenous Racism within the PPD program.
  • Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Share lived experience and expertise as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) to enhance student learning.
  • Guide students through case studies and discussion to connect course content to real-world practice, particularly in healthcare and human services.
  • Support Stenberg’s ongoing commitment to EDII in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications

  • Required: Indigenous identity: First Nations, Métis, or Inuit.
  • Experience as a facilitator, educator, or trainer.
  • Expertise in issues related to Indigenous Peoples, with a focus on anti-Indigenous racism.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous experiences in healthcare and human services.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage diverse student groups.
  • Preferred: Experience in post-secondary or adult education.
  • Familiarity with equity, diversity, and inclusion frameworks.
