[Hiring] Virtual Teacher, Social Science @Edmentum

Role Description

You will be the face and voice of Edmentum for students who depend on you to show up every day, live on camera, fully present and fully prepared. As a Virtual Social Science Teacher , you bring your classroom to life through a screen:

• Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day, creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that inspires student participation and achievement.
• Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt your approach to meet each student where they are.
• Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain accurate records that keep students and families informed and on track.
• Build genuine relationships with students and families through professional, proactive communication that fosters trust and shared accountability for learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support across their learning experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Active state teaching license with an endorsement in Social Science, grades 6-12.
• Preferred licensure in Idaho, Alabama, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Michigan and/or Indiana.
• Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings.
• Hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Highly organized and self-directed, with strong time management skills.
• Commitment to professional growth and staying current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.
• Integrity, warmth, and a deep belief that every student can succeed.

Requirements

• Confident and engaging on camera, able to teach live for five (5) or more consecutive hours per day.
• Data-informed: ability to read student performance data and adjust live instruction accordingly.
• Willingness to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
