Role Description
Draganfly Innovations Inc. is seeking a Training Standards & Development Lead to own the Company’s UAS training framework, qualification standards, curricula, instructor standardization, evaluations, and training records for internal teams and customers. Reporting to the Manager, Flight Operations, this role ensures training programs are consistent, current, scalable, and aligned with approved operating standards.
You will work closely with the Chief Pilot, Product, Engineering, Field Teams, and Technical Publications to translate operational, product, and regulatory changes into effective training programs and materials.

This role owns training standards and qualification programs, but does not approve flight operations, set operational policy, or manage the controlled-publications lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Training Programs & Standards:
-
Design and maintain initial, recurrent, transition, mission-specific, customer, and instructor training programs.

Define qualification standards, learning objectives, proficiency requirements, and written/practical evaluations for each platform and mission type.

Develop curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, courseware, student guides, instructor guides, and training manuals.

Instructor Standardization & LMS:

Own instructor qualification and standardization so instructors teach and evaluate to a common standard.

Develop train-the-trainer programs and support future LMS capabilities.

Records & Continuous Improvement:

Maintain training records, qualification evidence, and training matrices for certification tracking, recurrent requirements, and audit readiness.

Track training effectiveness and improve programs based on results, lessons learned, product updates, safety findings, and regulatory changes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with the Chief Pilot, Field Teams, Product, Engineering, and Technical Publications to keep training aligned with approved operations, aircraft changes, and controlled training materials.

Manage strategic relationships related to the delivery of training materials and customer training programs.
Qualifications
-
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required)
-
5+ years in UAS training, instruction, or aviation training-standards development, including program-level ownership

Demonstrated curriculum and courseware development experience, including measurable learning objectives and evaluations

Experience qualifying and standardizing instructors

Working knowledge of Part 107, SMS principles, CRM, and UAS operating documentation

Equivalent military UAS instructor, public-safety training, or aviation-training experience may substitute for a four-year degree

Ability to travel approximately 20–35% to support customer training and field standardization
Nice to Have

Formal instructional-design or training-systems background (e.g., systems approach to training / ADDIE)

Military UAS master-trainer or standardization-instructor experience

Experience building customer-facing training programs at a manufacturer or OEM

Experience with learning-management systems and training-records tooling
