[Hiring] Temporary Microcredential Online Course Developer @Brandeis University

1wk ago - Brandeis University is hiring a remote Temporary Microcredential Online Course Developer. πŸ’Έ Salary: $1,000 for 25 hours over 6 weeks πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

The Rabb School of Continuing Studies working in collaboration with the Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program at Brandeis University is seeking an experienced academic and curriculum strategist to design a non-credit, instructor-facilitated hybrid microcredential course (asynchronous structure with student optional weekly synchronous engagement sessions).

Fundraising is an essential skill for nonprofit professionals, whether or not development is their primary responsibility. Designed for mid-career nonprofit professionals, program or engagement staff, emerging leaders, or career changers, this microcredential provides a practical introduction to the American Jewish communal philanthropic sector and key trends influencing fundraising strategy.

The course emphasizes the fundamentals of fundraising communication and storytelling. Participants will learn how to craft compelling, donor-centered narratives that connect organizational impact to donor values and inspire support. As a final assessment, participants will draft an annual giving appeal and either a major gift proposal or a grant proposal. By the end of the microcredential, participants will have a stronger understanding of the fundraising landscape and practical tools they can apply immediately within their organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum & Design: Author and construct the course structure following the Brandeis Online Course Standards, including a Brandeis-compliant syllabus, instructor-led multimedia materials, learning objects, and outcomes-aligned assessments.
  • Academic Quality: Serve as the subject matter expert responsible for the course's substantive content and pedagogical approach, ensuring alignment with institutional standards and market relevance.
  • Collaboration & Timeline: Work closely with Brandeis Online staff and instructional designers, strictly adhering to LMS technical requirements and project milestones. Submit drafts progressively for iterative reviews and final approval.

Qualifications

  • MA in Fundraising or related fields
  • At least 10 years of experience in development, working with a diversity of organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of the Jewish philanthropy world.
  • Proficiency with modern LMS platforms and digital content authoring tools.
  • Superb structural writing, editing, and cross-functional communication abilities.
  • Proven capacity to translate complex technical/policy paradigms into accessible, engaging student pathways.

Pay Range Disclosure

The University's pay ranges represent a good faith estimate of what Brandeis reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. The pay offered to a selected candidate during hiring will be based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience and education/training, internal peer equity, and applicable legal requirements.
