[Hiring] Teacher of English @Castle Mead Academy

Role Description

Opportunity for an ambitious teacher to hone their craft and make a positive difference, as part of The Mead Educational Trust.

Castle Mead Academy, a non-selective secondary school, opened its doors in August 2019 and has grown to over 1200 scholars. We aim to provide a standard of education that matches the best schools in the country, ensuring every scholar leaves with high-value academic qualifications and positive dispositions for fulfilling lives.

Castle Mead is an Outstanding school, seeking a colleague with high potential to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to teach in a school where:

• a knowledge-rich curriculum in each subject gives pupils access to the best in every field;
• there is a focus on feedback rather than marking;
• there is a calm, orderly environment with rigorous routines for uninterrupted teaching;
• there is an emphasis on staff professional growth, with integrated professional learning and coaching;
• we challenge convention, distribute leadership, and consistently consider staff workload;

This is an opportunity for teachers who:

• are subject enthusiasts;
• champion pupils’ academic scholarship and character development;

The successful candidate will grow alongside our other teachers as part of our excellent team and have the opportunity to develop curriculum and practice together year by year.

Please submit your application by Monday 16th November 2026.
