Role Description

You'll be the direct link between Northumbria University and schools and colleges primarily within Yorkshire and the Humber region. Your role will involve:

  • Delivering engaging workshops, presentations, and activities to students.
  • Promoting Northumbria and encouraging applications from high-quality students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Representing the University at Higher Education exhibitions.
  • Working with coordinators to develop and deliver recruitment and widening participation events.
  • Proactively building relationships with schools and colleges through phone, email, and face-to-face contact.
  • Working towards specific regional targets for outreach sessions.
  • Using data and intelligence to inform recruitment strategies.

You will be based in a Yorkshire and Humber postcode but the role will be home based. This is a fixed term role until June 30th, 2028. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; therefore, the successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Qualifications

  • An Honours degree or equivalent.
  • Must live in a Yorkshire and the Humber postcode.

Requirements

  • Great organisation skills.
  • Experience of working with young people, or evidence of an interest in doing so.
  • Experience in customer service and/or managing relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and workshops to varied audiences.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and administrative skills with the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A current full UK driving licence, with competence and willingness to drive long distances, including evenings and weekends.
  • A DBS check is required for this role.
  • Flexible working is required as you will be working some evenings and weekends at events or travelling.
