Role Description
Civic Debate Academy is hiring a virtual speech coach for an online private school. This coach will teach two classes a week, Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM CT, and will prepare students to compete in Original Oratory and Informative Speaking. The coach will work closely with the debate coach operating on Tuesday & Thursday, as well as coordinating with the head debate coach of the school.
- Lead weekly classes
- Develop curriculum
- Provide written homework feedback
- Complete student evaluations
- Each class is capped at 8 students
Qualifications
- Passionate educator who genuinely cares about student growth
- Enjoy mentoring students of all ages
- Clear communication skills
- Energy and enthusiasm in the classroom
- Patient with beginners and supportive of advanced debaters
Requirements
- Able to teach virtually consistently from 3:30 - 5:00 PM CT
- Coaching, teaching, or mentoring experience in an educational setting
- Experience in Informative Speaking and Original Oratory
Benefits
- Compensation: $500 to $750 per month
- Additional opportunities: $30 to $50/hr
