Role Description

Representative Duties:

• Provide specialized physical health care procedures to Special Education and Section 504 eligible students.
• Maintain records and documents related to the provision of physical health care procedures.

Qualifications

• One of the following: An Associate’s Degree or higher, 48 college units, or successful completion of CBEST.
• Successful completion of Community First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training every two years (funded through district).
• Respond to electronic request to administer emergency anti-seizure medication.
• Successful annual completion of one training module of the following physical health care procedure:
  • Emergency anti-seizure medication administration

Requirements

• Written agreement to volunteer for administration of emergency anti-seizure medication.
• Successful completion of emergency anti-seizure medication training module.
• Monthly review by School District Nurse of required specialized health care procedure being performed with relation to meeting the needs of the student.
• A skill-based demonstration of competency will be required yearly.

Physical Requirements

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
• Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
• Hearing and speaking to exchange information and make presentations.
• Seeing to read, write, and use the computer.
• Kneeling and bending at the waist.
• Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
• Lifting objects weighing less than 20 lbs.
