[Hiring] Special Education Program Chair @Remington College

Role Description

We're looking for a dedicated Special Education Program Chair to join our Online Campus and work in collaboration with the Campus President to advance Remington College's mission and goals.

• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide support and resources for faculty involved in special education, including professional development.
• Advocate for and support students, addressing their needs and concerns and ensuring a positive and productive academic experience.
• Help to develop the curriculum for his or her department.
• Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and training of faculty.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, demotion, discipline, or any other change of status for an employee under his or her direct supervision to the Campus President; suggestions and recommendations are given particular weight.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to specific subject matter areas under his or her administrative guidance.
• Assist in organizing student orientations and graduation ceremonies and participate in such activities.
• Assist in organizing Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings in his or her department and attend such meetings.
• Monitor students' attendance and attrition.
• Control attrition for his or her department.
• Research and implement technological changes in his or her field.
• Supervise, coordinate, and customarily and regularly direct the work of all employees in his or her academic program.
• Provide assistance and support to the Campus President in the implementation of academic program objectives and for positive outcomes.
• Teach courses as required.
• Travel as required.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a Doctorate in special education or related field.
• Must have at least 4 years of experience in K-12 special education.
• Higher education teaching experience required.
