[Hiring] Southeast Regional Black Campus Ministry Coordinator @InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

Role Description

To advance the mission and purpose of InterVarsity, a Regional Ministry Coordinator provides ministry leadership and pastoral supervision across a region in an area of expertise (e.g. evangelism) or in work with a focused campus ministry (e.g. Greeks).

The Southeast Regional Black Campus Ministries (BCM) Coordinator provides specialized leadership for the development and expansion of Black Campus Ministry across the region, focusing on:

• Spiritual formation
• Leadership development
• Ministry effectiveness among Black students and InterVarsity staff

The BCM Coordinator functions as a regional resource, coach, and ministry builder for Black student ministry across Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and predominantly White institutions (PWIs).

Essential functions include:

• Personal growth and maturity as a disciple of Jesus Christ
• Ministry leadership and collaboration with others
• Coaching and mentoring Black staff and student leaders
• Initiating and strengthening BCM chapters
• Designing culturally relevant programming
• Developing ministry partnerships and public relations

Qualifications

• Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Ongoing call to ministry service with InterVarsity and its mission
• 3-5 years’ prior experience as an InterVarsity Campus Staff (or equivalent ministry experience) required
• Ministry skills including communication of spiritual vision and teaching
• Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software

Requirements

• A working knowledge of current Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
• Ability to travel for national and regional meetings
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment
• Ability to work independently without close supervision
• Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
• Open to learning new concepts, methods, and skills
