Role Description
NPower, a national nonprofit that launches digital careers for veterans and military-connected individuals, is hiring a Professional Development Manager (PDM) to prepare graduates of our no-cost SkillBridge Cybersecurity Program for successful civilian careers. You’ll teach the communication, networking, interviewing, and digital-presence skills transitioning service members need, build a network of mentors and partners that supports their career readiness, and create content that showcases the program’s impact.
Remote (must reside in the San Diego, CA area, Pacific Time) • Full-Time • Occasional travel • Reports to the SkillBridge Operations Director

Teach professional development sessions that prepare transitioning service members for civilian careers, covering resumes, interviewing, communication, and networking.

Coach students on using LinkedIn and professional networking platforms to build a strong professional presence and translate their military experience.

Build and maintain the curriculum along with a network of mentors, guest speakers, and partner resources spanning the core areas of career readiness.

Create engaging digital content that highlights the impact of the program and celebrates student and alumni success.

Support the Career Placement Manager in getting students’ career-readiness deliverables, such as resumes and LinkedIn profiles, polished and ready for their job search.
Qualifications

Three or more years of experience in teaching, training, coaching, professional development, or adult education.

Experience working with active-duty service members, veterans, or military-connected populations in an instructional or mentoring role.

Ability to facilitate engaging sessions and adapt content to the needs of diverse adult learners.

Capability to teach LinkedIn and professional networking and create clear, engaging presentations and digital content.

Organized, clear communicator, and ready to reside in the San Diego area on Pacific Time.
Requirements

Prior military service or experience supporting transitioning service members and veterans (nice to have, not required).

Experience building a network of mentors, speakers, or partner resources that supports a program and its participants (nice to have, not required).

Experience building a social media or content presence for a program or organization (nice to have, not required).

A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or familiarity with DoW SkillBridge, Transition Assistance Programs (TAP), or similar transition initiatives (nice to have, not required).
