Role Description
The Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Business and IT for the course BUSI 3131U - Intermediate Financial Accounting III.

Develop and teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course.

Utilize a technology-enhanced learning approach with inclusive teaching and learning strategies.

Prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments.

Be available for consultation with students during and after the course session.
Qualifications

Demonstrated excellent teaching contributions with a proven aptitude for teaching at the undergraduate level.

Must have a Canadian CPA designation.
Requirements

Excellent technical and conceptual knowledge of IFRS and ASPE.

Familiarity with the CPA Competency Map.

Proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.

Evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, and students.

Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate students in an accounting program.

Knowledge and experience with the Learning Management System, Canvas.

Ability to deliver classes remotely using online modalities such as Google Meet.

Excellent organizational skills for managing course delivery and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner.
Education
-
Hold a Canadian CPA designation and a Masters or PhD or DBA in Accounting; OR
-
Hold a Canadian CPA designation and a Masters or PhD or DBA in Business with demonstrated experience in accounting; OR
-
Hold a Canadian CPA designation with at least five years of field experience in accounting.
Experience
-
Experience teaching accounting at the university level.

Preference for candidates with demonstrated teaching excellence in an accounting program.

Proven experience managing large classes and diverse populations.

Experience coordinating and supervising Teaching Assistants as applicable.

Priority will be given to Internal Applicants who have taught any course for the University in three different sessions in the past thirty-six months.
