Role Description

We are seeking a Counselor Manager to join our team in a hybrid leadership role that is equal parts subject matter expert and people leader.

• Lead a dedicated group of coaching staff to achieve excellence in student outcomes while maintaining a personal roster of students.
• Uphold the highest standards of counseling across the organization.
• Provide mentorship and maintain critical operational systems like our sales/service matrix.
• Ensure every family receives expert guidance and empathetic support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in college counseling with a proven track record of student success.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity.
• Proficiency in managing employee capacity and sales/service matrices.
• Exceptional presence for public-facing webinars and presentations.
• Preference for active membership or prior experience in organizations such as NACAC, IECA, or HECA.
• Preference for prior professional experience in a high-growth organizational structure.

Requirements

• Manage counselors to quarterly and annual performance outcomes.
• Establish and maintain a cadence of regular one-on-one sessions with all counselors.
• Review college lists, essays, summer plans, and other important planning aspects.
• Conduct performance reviews and set team-wide and individual goals for counselors.
• Collaborate with other Counselor Managers on all aspects of counselor development.
• Act as a liaison to the client services and sales teams.
• Lead and facilitate regular counseling team calls.
• Join the recruiting and evaluation process for new college coaches.
• Lead the training and shadowing process for all new counselors.
• Work with students directly as a Senior College Coach.
• Review all college coaching resources and ensure they are up to date.
• Meet annual sales targets for your college coaching.
• Stay up to date on the admissions world.
• Share knowledge with all coaches via regular emails and updates.
• Lead webinars and events alongside other counselors.
• Perform other responsibilities as required by the counseling department.
