Role Description
We are hiring an experienced College Admissions Counselor to guide students through the college admissions process, with a particular focus on students pursuing STEM and/or business management pathways. This fully remote role is for someone who understands how top US universities, including Ivy League schools, evaluate applicants and can help students build strong, thoughtful applications.
The ideal candidate excels at connecting with students, is a clear and prompt communicator, and values collaboration. They can meet students where theyโre at and help them grow. They are also comfortable working as part of a smaller team that looks at the whole student โ their academics, personal growth, and emotional well-being.

Guide students ranging from grades 8-12 and their families through all phases of the college application process:

Academic and extracurricular planning

Summer program applications

College list development
-
Application strategy and organization
-
Essay coaching (personal statements, supplements, UC PIQs, etc.)

Interview preparation and decision support
-
Support students in ways that consider their academic, social, and emotional development

Keep accurate notes and manage timelines
-
Prompt communication with students, families, and internal teams
-
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure students receive well-rounded support
-
Stay informed about admissions trends, testing changes, and institutional priorities
-
Participate in sales interviews, marketing workshops, and other company events as needed
Qualifications
-
Bachelorโs degree required; Masterโs degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Ed, or related field preferred

3+ years of experience in college admissions or counseling:
-
College admissions officer at a selective U.S. institution
-
Independent college counselor
-
Results from Top 20 schools
-
STEM and/or business management counseling experience required

Strong knowledge of the Ivy League and other top U.S. colleges
-
Skilled at reviewing and guiding students through essays and applications
-
Capacity to meet and work with students in Pacific time zone (preference for applicants in Irvine or Bay area)

Excellent writing, communication, and time management skills

Accommodate student meetings (e.g. during weekday evenings and weekends)

Comfort working and building relationships with students and families from a wide range of backgrounds

Ability to manage a student caseload with professionalism and care
Preferred Qualifications

Membership in IECA, HECA, or NACAC

Experience working with international students, student-athletes, or students with specialized interests
