Role Description
The Secondary Teacher, Science (Chemistry & Physics) will be responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in physical science while fostering critical thinking and scientific inquiry. This position will primarily focus on inquiry-based learning and technology integration and require the ability to support diverse learners and promote academic excellence to fulfill our mission of empowering families and unleashing potential.

Deliver engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with Indiana Science Standards for grades 9-12.

Utilize diverse online teaching methods, resources, and technologies to meet varied learning styles and needs.

Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate inquiry-based learning, lab experiences, technology integration, and differentiated instruction.

Provide timely and clear feedback on student work to enhance understanding and growth.

Facilitate small group instruction and offer individualized student support.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

Implement the Stellar Virtual science curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to individual student needs.

Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor learning and inform instruction.

Analyze student data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies.

Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the science curriculum.

Maintain regular and effective communication with students and parents regarding progress, assignments, and concerns.

Respond promptly to student and parent inquiries via email, phone, and virtual meetings.

Support on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required).

Participate in virtual professional development and collaborate with colleagues on online teaching best practices.

Work collaboratively with student support services (e.g., counselors, special education) to address student needs.

Attend virtual staff meetings and contribute to the overall success of Stellar Virtual.
Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting.

Experience teaching Chemistry and Physics.

Demonstrated experience using online learning platforms and educational technology.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.

Passion for working with students and fostering their academic growth in science.

Residency in the state of Indiana is required.
Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, Chemistry, Physics or a related field.

A valid Indiana teaching license with an endorsement in Physical Science (grades 9-12) or equivalent.
