[Hiring] Research Intervention Counselor @The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus

Role Description

Seeking a part-time study therapist to support research studies by providing counseling interventions to study participants. Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating appointments
• Conducting intervention sessions
• Maintaining documentation
• Participating in supervision
• Ensuring adherence to study protocols
• Providing support to participants experiencing a crisis

Qualifications

• Experience or demonstrated interest in HIV prevention (Preferred)
• Experience working with diverse groups of individuals including but not limited to people living with HIV, people of color, people who identify as LGBTQ, people who engage in sex work, and people with (Required)
• 1-2 years counseling experience with training in CBT, behavioral activation, and/or other evidence-based treatments (either during or after completion of graduate degree) (Required)
• Prior professional community-based participatory research/implementation research (Preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and counseling skills (Required)
• Familiarity with using email and Microsoft applications (Required)
• Meticulous attention to detail, organized, and able to work on many different projects simultaneously (Required)
• Able to write about sensitive topics in a mature manner (Required)
• Interested in health disparities, public health, HIV prevention and treatment, and sexual and reproductive health (Required)

Requirements

• Master's Degree MA/MS/MSW in psychology, mental health, or behavioral science aspects of public health or equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred)
• LICSW with training in CBT, behavioral activation, and/or motivational interviewing (Preferred)
