Role Description

This position provides specialized fitness/aerobic instruction. This position conducts training from approved curriculum resources. May conduct needs assessment and individualize educational activities as appropriate for participants.

• Assesses participant needs and adjusts class curriculum accordingly.
• Adapts programs and routines to meet the needs of individuals and groups for exercise efficiency.
• Participates in the marketing and promotion of fitness classes.
• Helps develop communication and information tools to promote classes and activities.
• Teaches classes and adapts teaching strategies for improved delivery of education to meet audience needs based on participant feedback.
• Ensures classes contain applicable supplies and sets up classroom (as needed per educational content).
• Greets and encourages class members as needed.
• May provide additional materials and information to individuals with specific needs.

Qualifications

• Current and applicable 'Group Fitness Certification' (i.e. AFAA, ACE, ISMA, ACSM) or approved specialty fitness certification.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• 1 year of experience in teaching group fitness, preferred.
