Role Description

Earlston Academy is looking for an experienced QA Automation & Software Testing Engineer to join our instructor network and lead career-focused, cohort-based training. This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional who is actively working in software testing and automation and wants to help students develop practical, job-ready engineering skills.

• Create and maintain QA automation and software testing course content.
• Lead engaging live online sessions for assigned cohorts.
• Teach practical software testing and quality engineering concepts.
• Develop hands-on testing projects, automation exercises, and assessments.
• Demonstrate real-world testing frameworks, tools, and automation workflows.
• Teach students how to design, execute, and maintain automated test suites.
• Mentor students and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Keep course content current with evolving QA, testing, automation, and AI technologies.

Qualifications

• Currently working as a QA Engineer, SDET, Software Test Engineer, Automation Engineer, or closely related role.
• 7+ years of professional experience.
• Current, relevant QA, testing, automation, cloud, or technology certification(s), where applicable.
• Strong professional experience with automated and manual software testing.
• Strong experience with testing frameworks, APIs, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages used for test automation.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students.
• Teaching, mentoring, or technical training experience is preferred.
• Reliable computer, webcam, microphone, and internet connection.

Requirements

• Applicants must submit a short video assessment demonstrating their ability to teach a software testing or QA automation concept.

• Course Content Development: $1,000–$3,000 per course, based on course scope and complexity.
• Live Instruction: $45–$125 per instructional hour.
• Student Support & Grading: Additional compensation based on cohort requirements.
• Repeat Cohorts: Additional compensation for each subsequent cohort taught.
• Compensation is based on experience, course complexity, content requirements, and cohort size.
