Role Description

The Program Leader - Interior Design is responsible for the development and management of academic undergraduate programs, ensuring the highest scientific and quality standards while maintaining compliance with ministerial and regional accreditation requirements. This role involves overseeing faculty development, fostering an excellent learning experience for students through dedicated tutoring and supervision, and managing collaborations with leading luxury and high-end industry partners. In addition to academic leadership, the Program Leader - Interior Design will contribute to research initiatives, enhance their academic profile, and support the institution’s mission of excellence in design education. The ideal candidate is a visionary educator with strong industry connections and a commitment to innovation in Interior Design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Courses Management:
    • Directly coordinates the courses within the assigned academic area.
    • Oversees the development of educational programs, ensuring quality.
    • Manages the necessary academic documentation.
    • Supervises academic and scientific results in compliance with regulations.
    • Serves as the point of reference for scientific coordinators of undergraduate programs.
    • Actively supports the Director of Education in maintaining accreditation requirements.
    • Collaborates with the academic department in designing and structuring courses.
  • Faculty Management:
    • Acts as the primary reference for the faculty within the assigned academic area.
    • Monitors academic activities to ensure quality teaching standards.
    • Ensures faculty compliance with corporate quality standards.
    • Oversees the scientific development of faculty members’ CVs.
    • Assists the Director of Education in identifying and training new faculty members.
    • Engages in visiting professor activities at national and international levels.
  • Students’ Tutoring & Supervision:
    • Serves as the primary contact for students enrolled in assigned courses.
    • Conducts weekly one-on-one meetings for continuous tutoring and supervision.
    • Contributes to a positive student learning experience.
    • Supports students throughout their thesis projects.
    • Ensures the completion of student feedback in accordance with predefined targets.
  • Academic & Industry Projects:
    • Actively supports and manages academic projects in collaboration with key industries.
    • Ensures full implementation of academic projects by involving faculty and students.
    • Acts as the point of reference for selected Third Mission projects.
    • Represents the institution in promotional activities and industry collaborations.
  • R&D – CV Development:
    • Oversees research and development projects assigned by the Director of Education.
    • Actively develops their own academic curriculum in compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Enhances scientific research and industry recognition annually to meet accreditation standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Product Design, or a related field (PhD preferred).
  • Strong academic background in spatial design, material innovation, sustainable design, and luxury interior design.
  • Additional certifications in design management, digital fabrication, or immersive technologies are a plus.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in interior design, architecture, or luxury hospitality design.
  • Portfolio of completed projects and leadership experience in an academic institution or a high-profile design firm.
  • Expertise in innovative design processes, including phygital experiences, generative design, AI-driven design, and sustainability in interiors.
  • Deep knowledge of interior architecture trends, emerging materials, and the luxury market.
  • Ability to develop and implement academic programs aligned with industry needs and future design challenges.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring faculty, fostering a collaborative and stimulating educational environment.
  • Well-established network within the design and luxury sectors.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, integrating technology, business, and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience in public speaking, academic research, and design consulting.
  • Fluent in Italian and English; additional language skills are a plus.

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is between 60k and 70k.
