YDay - Glean Education is hiring a remote Professional Learning Lead. 💸 Salary: $68k - $88k plus benefits 📍Location: USA

Role Description

The Professional Learning Lead serves as the primary delivery and client ownership partner for Glean Education's professional development contracts. This person leads day-to-day client relationships and the delivery of training across a portfolio of district and school partnerships. The Professional Learning Lead reports directly to the CEO.

This leadership role is designed for an experienced literacy educator who is energized by working with adult learners, thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment, and wants to make a broad impact across multiple school communities in Alaska. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in Structured Literacy, adult learning facilitation, and a deep familiarity with the unique contexts of rural and remote school communities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Training Delivery
    • Facilitate and deliver virtual and in-person professional learning sessions for teachers, interventionists, paraprofessionals, and school leaders on Structured Literacy topics grounded in the Science of Reading.
    • Facilitate data-driven instruction workshops, DIBELS and mClass data dives, and MTSS capacity-building sessions across grade-level bands (early childhood through secondary).
    • Deliver school leader trainings on Glean’s Five-part District Literacy Success Series and provide participant follow-up with relevant client check-in opportunities.
    • Support implementation of Science of Reading Aligned ELA curricula and supplemental Structured Literacy programs.
    • Facilitate early childhood and Pre-K PD, including Pyramid Model and MTSS for early learning contexts.
    • Co-facilitate Glean’s Structured Literacy Coaching Academy along with the CEO and support participant follow-up with relevant client check-in opportunities.
    • Co-facilitate Glean’s Community of Practice for Alaska’s CLSD sub-grantees.
    • Support multilingual learners and EL-specific instructional strategies as part of broader literacy PD.
  • Client and Contract Ownership
    • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned district partners.
    • Support Glean Education with state-level support related to the CLSD grant.
    • Schedule, confirm, and prepare for all training sessions — virtual and in-person.
    • Build and distribute session materials and handouts that are ADA-accessible and Section 508-compliant where applicable.
    • Design and maintain data collection and reporting systems for tracking participant engagement and session impact.
    • Collect and synthesize end-of-training survey data; write and deliver session summaries and impact reports to district partners.
    • Coordinate travel logistics for in-person site visits across Alaska.
    • Flag contract scope changes or client concerns to the CEO proactively.
  • Team Coordination
    • Align training content and sequencing with the Structured Literacy Coach Manager and Structured Literacy Intervention Manager.
    • Collaborate with Operations Assistant and/or Zoom event producer to ensure participants are notified of upcoming events.
    • Participate in regular check-ins with the CEO on contract status, client health, and upcoming deliverables.
  • Model Visioning
    • Contribute to the articulation and documentation of Glean's instructional model.
    • Collaborate with the CEO to translate the Glean training and coaching methodology into replicable delivery guides.
    • Identify gaps between current service delivery and a scalable district support model.
    • Support the development of a tiered district support framework.
  • Certification System Support
    • Contribute to the design and build of Glean's coach certification program.
    • Help develop the trainer certification pathway.
    • Build and refine observation and feedback tools that Coach Managers use.
    • Support the creation of onboarding materials and training sequences for incoming certified coaches and trainers.
    • Participate in feedback loop sessions to review coaching recordings.

Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree is preferred (comparable work experience will be considered) with major coursework related to literacy.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating professional development for adult learners — both virtual and in-person, across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of the Science of Reading and structured literacy principles, with evidence of ongoing professional learning in this area.
  • Familiarity with MTSS frameworks and tiered intervention systems across grade-level bands, including early childhood.
  • Exemplary knowledge of and experience with delivering reading instruction based on the Science of Reading.
  • Excellent written communication — able to produce polished session summaries, data systems, and client-facing reports.
  • Highly organized and self-directed; comfortable managing multiple district relationships simultaneously.
  • Significant experience presenting professional development to educators.
  • Training in LETRS, Glean Education’s Online Learning Academy, AIM Institute, Keys to Literacy, and/or other Science of Reading-based professional learning.
  • Orton-Gillingham training is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of previous experience as a reading interventionist, instructional coach, school leader, or administrator.
