Role Description

This course will survey a range of topics related to the neuroscience of psychedelics including:

• How psychedelics exert their mechanisms of action in the nervous system
• The role of various transmitters in maintaining mental health symptoms
• The potential role of psychedelics in reversing these symptoms
• The various neurological effects of psychedelic drugs
• Contraindicated use of psychedelics with other psychiatric medications

This course will be offered virtually.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Psychology or related discipline
• Advanced knowledge of the course content area

• Expected enrolment: 20
• Course Schedule: Tuesday 11:30-14:30 - course is offered virtually

Benefits

• Hourly Rate: Teaching: $239.47 (2024-2025)
• The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31
• Rates do not include vacation pay nor statutory pay
• Rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified
• Retro will be paid after the ratification
