Role Description
Capella University offers two learning formats, FlexPath and GuidedPath, to provide a flexible and affordable way for working professionals to earn a degree designed to fit into their life.
Our FlexPath learning format offers asynchronous 12-week courses with self-paced target dates to put learners in control of completing the course within 12 weeks of enrollment. Rolling enrollment allows learners to finish a course early and advance to the next course mid-quarter without having to wait. Faculty help learners progress by providing competency-based evaluations within 48 hours of assessment submissions, excluding weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assignments are on an ongoing rolling enrollment basis according to expertise and school needs.

Utilize your professional expertise to provide high quality instruction from a pre-designed curriculum.

Be available within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) by phone, email, and in the courseroom to ensure learners receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.

Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the learning experience.

Establish high standards and ensure learners understand how they will be evaluated.

Adhere to University policies and procedures.

Attend faculty meetings and workshops and/or training as required.

Participate in other activities based on university needs.
Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.

Effectively communicate with all levels of the University.

Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning and organizing of course objectives.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.

Ability to manage potentially stressful situations in a professional and ethical manner.
Requirements
-
Two years of practitioner experience in the security industry required.
-
Minimum of 2 full-time years of paid practical work experience in the security industry required.

Extensive experience researching, implementing, and administrating existing and new security-specific software, techniques and tools required.

Extensive experience with general, offensive, and defensive security practices and policies required.
-
Experience presenting at professional conferences on a national and/or local level required.

Membership/affiliation in an educational leadership organization on a national, regional, and/or local level required.

Working familiarity with artificial intelligence, policy, governance, and compliance within cybersecurity required.
-
Working familiarity of the current practices and applications of artificial intelligence within cybersecurity required.

Expertise in vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection, incident response, penetration testing and system administration strongly preferred.

Online higher education teaching experience or field education experience (teaching, liaison, or supervision) strongly preferred.
Education

Doctoral degree in Cybersecurity or related Information Technology degree required.

All degrees must be conferred and from a regionally accredited institution. Copies of required certificates and licenses and unofficial transcripts for all graduate degrees with the institution and conferred degree and date must be attached.
Certificates, licenses and registrations

CISSP certification preferred.

NSA designation knowledge preferred.
Other

Must be able to travel occasionally within the US should a business need arise (including doctoral residencies, site visits, etc.).

Ability to work onsite in a Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role.

Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in a setting that enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
