Role Description

Are you an experienced educator passionate about guiding students in an online environment? Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dynamic Online Faculty Instructor to deliver online coursework, engage distant learners, and foster student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Professional/Doctoral degree (e.g., JD, MD, Ph.D.) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 18 semester credit hours (or equivalent graduate-level credits) in the specific teaching subject area.
• Current license, certification, or professional credential as required by local, state, or federal regulations to practice in the field (where applicable for core program courses).
• Prior experience instructing post-secondary courses in an online or asynchronous LMS environment is required.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), LMS platforms, and video-conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills suitable for digital interaction and remote mentorship.

Requirements

• Conduct online courses adhering to established institutional guidelines, technology standards, and curriculum structures.
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback on assignments and offer proactive assistance to students struggling with course content.
• Actively contribute to retention efforts by contacting disengaged students via phone, email, or text, meticulously documenting outreach in the faculty portal.
• Strive to maintain a minimum 70% student success rate across all assigned classes.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date student grades following institutional policy and submit final grades at the end of each sequence to update records and transcripts.
• Monitor individual student progress and collaborate with Program Directors and Student Services Coordinators to address academic risks.
• Direct non-academic student inquiries (financial aid, transcript requests) to the appropriate campus personnel.
• Participate in required in-service activities, faculty meetings, and ongoing professional development to stay informed on educational technology advancements and industry trends.
