Role Description

Bay Path University is seeking a part-time online adjunct instructor for the following course:

• Course: EDU 250 - Introduction to Special Education (3 credits)
• Description: This course deals with the implications of disabling conditions on optimal learning potential and daily well-being of children. Emphasis is on identification of disabling conditions and techniques used to promote successful integration of children with and without special needs in education settings.
• Topics Covered:
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans
  • Intervention and instructional strategies for diverse learners, including cognitive, social, and emotional strategies
  • Collaborative partnerships with families and community resources
  • Observations are required

• Type of class: Synchronous Online
• Class level: Undergraduate
• Date class is scheduled to begin: January 11, 2027
• Class schedule: Pathways to Teaching courses meet one evening per week via Zoom

Compensation: $500 - $1,200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary, depending on academic discipline and the course's credit load and level.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher.
• Teaching experience at the elementary levels and/or special education is required.
• Early Childhood Pk-2, and/or Elementary 1-6, Massachusetts Teaching Licenses, Initial or higher, is required.
• Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
