[Hiring] Mentor to STEM College Students @JerseySTEM, Inc.

Role Description

Do you have an hour a week? Become a JerseySTEM Mentor and advance the career of a college student who leads after-school STEM programs for underrepresented middle school girls.

• Meet (virtual, phone or video) with your mentee for 45 minutes to 1 hour per week for 10 weeks.
• Share your insights, experience, and wisdom to help mentees (college students) set goals.
• Assist in seeking networking opportunities.
• Help mentees better navigate career opportunities and challenges.

Qualifications

• Pro-bono (unpaid) position.
• Minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week.
• $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership (exemptions for K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students).

Requirements

• Commit to a 10-week schedule to meet your mentee virtually or in-person.
• Minimum of 30 minutes per session (budget one hour).
• Offer guidance in résumé development, networking, and other important skills.
