Role Description

Many of the most popular video games engage users with a good story set in imagined medieval worlds. Students in this course will research and shape medieval source material into their own game play narratives. By doing so, they are challenged to reflect on how knowledge, perceptions, and myths about the medieval past inform those worlds and stories. As creators of digital gaming projects, they also explore narrative structure, plot, and immersive storytelling. Through this exploration of storytelling based on the medieval past, students will develop a greater understanding of medievalism and its contemporary influence.

• Required Discipline: Medieval or Medievalism Studies
• Required Professional Designation: Masters (required)
