Role Description

Be at the forefront of change and become part of the innovative and forward-thinking academic team in the University of Michigan-Flint's Public Health & Health Sciences Department in the rapidly expanding College of Health Sciences! The Respiratory Therapy Program at UM-Flint is seeking a LEO Intermittent Lecturer starting in the Summer 2026 semester to serve as a Primary Instructor for RSP 400 at 25% effort. This course meets online asynchronously.

Course Description:

• RSP 400 - Advanced Adult Critical Care: Focus on advanced critical care, including management of the difficult airway, administration of specialty gases, techniques to enhance ventilation and oxygenation, disease management, diagnostic testing, nutritional status evaluation, patient transport and end of life issues.
• Designed to aid in preparation for the Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Responsibilities:

• Provide course instruction through lectures, discussion boards, and case studies.
• Grade assignments, quizzes, and tests.
• Work collaboratively with department faculty.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Must hold and maintain active credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in a related discipline in an academic or clinical setting.
• Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in a relevant setting.

Requirements

• Experience as an instructor in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
