Role Description

This role is supported by grant funding that is currently approved for a one-year period. This role is open to qualified candidates based in the United States or Latin America.

In coordination with RISE PRIME and the many subs you will support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning and capacity-strengthening initiatives that advance emergency response and disaster preparedness objectives. You will not need to be a subject matter expert for all themes but will collaborate with subject matter experts, program teams, and external partners to develop engaging learning experiences, strengthen organizational and partner capabilities, and promote knowledge sharing across grant-funded activities. Through effective coordination, instructional design expertise, and a commitment to continuous learning, you will help build the capacity of teams and partners to better serve vulnerable children and communities.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Coordinate learning and capacity-building activities that support grant objectives and program outcomes.
  • Provide humanitarian sector coaching for New and Underutilized Partners (NUPs) and recommend suitable operational engagements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop effective training and capacity-strengthening solutions.
  • Design and develop learning materials, including curricula, facilitator guides, participant resources, job aids, and digital learning content.
  • Coordinate the delivery of instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced learning programs.
  • Support training logistics, scheduling, communications, participant engagement, and learning documentation.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate learning activities to assess effectiveness, identify improvements, and measure outcomes.
  • Maintain learning resources and knowledge management systems to ensure accessibility and consistency.
  • Support partner and staff capacity development through coaching, resource development, and technical assistance.
  • Contribute to grant reporting, work planning, and documentation related to learning and capacity-building activities.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in learning, capacity development, emergency preparedness, and humanitarian programming.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in humanitarian and disaster relief program design, management, and accountability.
  • Experience supporting donor-funded, humanitarian, emergency preparedness, international development, or related programs preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering field-based, hands-on learning, training, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders while managing competing priorities.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills are required.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in French and/or Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Benefits

  • The mission: Join a team that is motivated to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
  • Spiritual growth: Participate in regular chapel services, prayer groups, and department devotionals.
