Role Description
Are you passionate about youth mental health? Do you have lived experience with a mental health struggle or illness? Do you want to share your mental health journey and support other youth in theirs? Jack.org is looking for Jack Talk Speakers to join our program - and we want you to bring your voice to the conversation.
What are Jack Talks?
-
Jack Talks are mental health presentations delivered by trained young speakers aged 18-27 given to other young people across Canada.
-
Our goal is to educate, empower, and inspire youth across the country to take care of their mental health and look out for one another while reducing the stigma around mental health.
We offer multiple types of Talks to fit your preferences, skills, and how you want to participate in the conversation:
-
Conversations:
Discussion-focused sessions that create comfortable spaces for participants to reflect, share, and connect around mental health themes.
-
Foundations:
Presentations with an emphasis on storytelling that provide flexible, skill-building experiences focused on mental health literacy and supportive behaviours.
-
Keynote:
Larger, impactful presentations that introduce audiences to common and complex mental health challenges.
This year, we will have two different training programs. Speakers can either certify in:
-
Both the Conversations and Foundations Talks, or
-
The Keynote Talk.
We will work with you to find the format and content that best fits your skills, interests, experience, and availability.
