Role Description

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the role involves:

• Developing students' knowledge about global and national social issues.
• Understanding the geographical, historical, cultural, and political factors that influence the development of world regions.
• Developing students' skills in social studies, history, geography, American government, political science, or humanities for secondary pupils.
• Utilizing core curriculum and other appropriate learning activities approved in the North Carolina Social Studies curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 18 semester hours of relevant coursework.
• 2.7 GPA (undergraduate coursework or post-graduate coursework).
• Ability to produce an official, degree dated transcript from an accredited university.
• Former Lateral Entry license candidates are eligible to apply.

Requirements

• Licensed - Middle School/Middle Grades Social Studies Teacher.
• Percent Employed: 100%.
• Months of Employment: Interim Ending 11/9/2026.
• Position Type: Interim.
• Level of Benefits: No Benefits.
• Pay Range: Substitute teacher pay: $165/day for licensed educators.
