Role Description
The Instructional Coach, Mathematics (9β12) will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the fidelity of Tier 2 mathematics instruction in high school classrooms. This position will primarily focus on aligning intervention strategies with STAAR standards, coaching teachers in effective instructional practices, and utilizing student data to design targeted follow-up instruction. The coach will be able to provide ongoing feedback, model best practices, and collaborate with teachers to improve student outcomes through consistent, data-driven Tier 2 interventions.
Qualifications

Minimum of 3β5 years of successful high school mathematics teaching experience

Deep knowledge of high school mathematics content and pedagogy, including intervention and Tier 2 instructional strategies

Strong data analysis skills to monitor student progress and guide instructional adjustments

Ability to provide constructive, non-evaluative feedback and model effective teaching strategies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with teachers and leadership

Experience designing or supporting targeted follow-up instruction based on student needs

Organizational and time-management skills to manage coaching responsibilities effectively

Proficiency with educational technology and data management tools

Experience coaching or mentoring teachers, particularly in Tier 2 intervention settings (preferred)
Requirements

Bachelorβs degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field is required

A valid Texas teaching certificate (with an endorsement in Mathematics, Grades 7-12)

Masterβs degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field would be preferred
