Role Description
The Instructional Coach, English Language Arts (9β12) will be responsible for supporting and strengthening Tier 2 instructional practices to improve literacy outcomes for high school students. This position will primarily focus on aligning intervention strategies with STAAR standards, utilizing student data to drive targeted instruction, and coaching teachers through modeling best practices, providing actionable feedback, and ensuring consistent, high-quality implementation of Tier 2 interventions.
Qualifications

At least 3-5 years of successful ELA classroom teaching experience at the middle school level

Strong knowledge of Tier 2 intervention instructional strategies and assessment tools

Proficiency in analyzing student performance data to guide instruction and interventions

Ability to provide constructive, non-evaluative feedback and model effective teaching strategies

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers and leadership

Experience designing or supporting targeted follow-up instruction based on student needs

Familiarity with progress monitoring and using data to track student growth

Organizational skills to manage coaching schedules, observations, and follow-up support

Competency in educational technology tools for instruction and data management

Experience supporting or coaching teachers, especially in Tier 2 intervention settings (preferred)
Requirements

Bachelorβs degree in Education, English or a related field is required.

A valid Texas teaching certificate (with an endorsement in English Language Arts and Reading, Grades 7β12).

Masterβs degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field would be preferred.
