Role Description

The MSN Core Courses Faculty position is full-time. If interested, this position qualifies for Health benefits and the employee tuition benefit.
As a full-time Core Courses Faculty member, you’ll be responsible for full course oversight to ensure high quality and accreditation/regulatory compliance. This position reports to the Lead Faculty of the MSN Core Program. Target start is immediate.

Teach 12 MSN Core Courses/per year (2 every 8 weeks). Must teach each course twice at a minimum.

Mentor and train new and existing faculty.

Participate in course revisions as an SME.

Gather and collect instructional documents/teaching tools from instructors and send them to the program lead to add to the CIRT folders. Ensure the CIRT folder is updated every 6 months.

Conduct Quarterly MSN Core Curriculum Meetings.

Communicate college and program updates to course faculty when needed.

Respond to and manage classroom faculty and student concerns.

May assist in analyzing course data in collaboration with the program lead.

Provide leadership, management, and direction to course faculty.

Identify from the faculty dashboard (or receive a list from the program lead) who will be teaching the other sections of the course and send a welcome/intro email of support.

Communicate in a manner that is respectful, professional, and fosters a collaborative approach with other faculty, supervising dean, staff, and other GCU departments as needed for input and support.

Serve as the first contact for faculty and/or student concerns.

Communicate student issues to the appropriate college/university department for resolution.

Collaborate regularly with MSN Core program lead faculty on all the above.
Qualifications

Doctorate preferred; MSN required

Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a university setting required

Required work experience in graduate or DNP nursing online teaching area

Must maintain an active, current, unrestricted, and unencumbered multistate RN license

Excellent communication and team skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, preceptors, faculty, and college and university leaders

Microsoft Office Suite skills required

Must successfully pass a drug test

Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
