Role Description

The Experiential Learning Designer will design industry-leading and scalable learning experiences, apply analytical data research to improve outcomes, and use adult learning science methodologies to improve learner engagement and persistence for the Higher Ed audience. This position must be well versed in problem solving, needs and learner analysis, management and execution of curriculum and programmatic projects, effective evaluation and feedback methods, and adult learning theory.

The Experiential Learning Designer will actively participate in this vision through ensuring that Bryan University’s graduates are prepared with the relevant knowledge and practical, productive skills through designing advanced curriculum which leads directly to high-demand professional careers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging online learning products aligned with Bryan University's Learning Model, program requirements, and applicable accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Apply evidence-based instructional design, learning, and cognitive science principles to ensure alignment among outcomes, objectives, learning activities, and assessments.
• Collaborate and communicate with Program Directors, subject matter experts, faculty, and other stakeholders to translate content and program needs into effective learning experiences produce confidently-capable and work-force ready individuals.
• Build and maintain learning products within the LMS using appropriate educational technologies and established design, accessibility, accreditation, and quality standards.
• Participate in quality-review processes and continuously improve the learning product.
• Develop authentic assessments designed for experience-based application of course outcomes or competencies.
• Analyze data, monitor program/course performance, and identify opportunities to improve learning outcomes.
• Continually reimagine programs and products by integrating established and emerging design concepts and technologies.
• Manage multiple projects from initiation through delivery ensuring efforts move positively forward and implementing win-win solutions.
• Stay abreast of changes and happenings in Higher Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, and Cognitive Science fields.
• Contribute to an open, inventive, highly-collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Education, Cognitive Science, or closely related field.
• 5+ years in online instructional/curriculum design for Higher Ed audience.
• Proven track record for being a dynamic communicator and facilitator with a focus on student-centered, adaptive development.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize creative pedagogical and technological techniques.
• Strong presentation and organizational skills.
• Experience leveraging artificial intelligence and emerging technologies within instructional-design workflows and online learning.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online learning technologies.
• Strong communication (both verbal and written), collaboration, and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively partner with key stakeholders.
• Demonstrates knowledge of problem-solving, conflict resolution, and delivering customer satisfaction.
• Values higher education and BU’s mission to liberate the innate greatness in people.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in navigating through a PC.
• Ability to work in a virtual environment using multiple software programs simultaneously including MS Office programs, Gmail, Zoom, etc.
• Ability to sit for six to eight hours.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule at least 40 hours per week.

• Qualified applicants will be asked to complete a sample project to showcase their knowledge and skills.
• Additional consideration goes to applicants that submit a portfolio with their application. An ideal portfolio includes examples of work within an online higher education setting along with a simple description of the work.
