Role Description
The Snell Group, part of the Applied Technical Services (ATS) Family of Companies, is seeking a trained technician with sound electrical and mechanical aptitude to work remotely and independently with little supervision.
EMT & IR Consultant/Instructor will work with the Snell Group to provide training and services for our clients. Work will be scheduled by our home office, and travel and lodging will be scheduled by you. As this is a relatively new technology, extensive previous experience, while desired, is not necessary.
Responsibilities

Deliver all facets of motor training, certification, and services to clients.

Provide Motor Testing and Power Quality Training, including:
-
Comprehensive training on various types of motors, motor circuit configurations, starting circuits, motor construction, motor rewind procedures, and data analysis techniques for both energized and de-energized motors.

Instruct Electric Motor Testing Combined Certification Course.

Instruct Electric Motor Testing Advanced Analyst Certification Course.
-
Instruct Power Quality Analysis Certification Course.
-
Instruct Electric Motor Reliability Manager Certification Course.

Conduct Electric Motor and Power Quality Services.
-
Provide Infrared Thermography ASNT Level I & II Training.

Collect and analyze motor, motor circuit, and power quality data.

Conduct Infrared Thermography inspections.

Provide customers with detailed reports describing identified anomalies.

Be a self-starter and maintain awareness of existing and upcoming developments with motor tester and power quality technology, motor and motor circuit design, maintenance, and reliability.

Develop new and update existing curriculum.

Identify client requirements by establishing relationships with potential clients.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge and certifications.
Qualifications
-
Sound theoretical background in electrical theory.
-
5 years Industrial electrician or technician or equivalent military experience.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Computer skills – Excel, Word documents using multimedia materials, File & Directory management.

Ability to multi-task and work in a growing environment.

Travel required (75% estimated).

Applicants must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions

Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.

Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.

Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.

Work around operating equipment and industrial environments.

Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.

Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week and travel for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
