Role Description

The position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor in the Department of English, focusing on the course "Effective Business English" (ENG1131). The course aims to develop skills in written communication, including:

• Review of grammatical usage
• Basic principles of composition
• Analysis of samples of effective business prose

Course Schedule:

• Tuesday 11:30-13:00
• Friday 13:00-14:30

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in English
• Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred

Requirements

• An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as equivalent to the educational requirements and/or demonstrated experience
• Employees are required to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as per provincial law

Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $239.47 (2024-2025) for teaching
• The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31
• Rates do not include vacation pay nor statutory pay
• Retro pay will be provided after the ratification of a new collective agreement
