Role Description

The Director of the Wessex Group Partnership of Sixth Form Colleges is a strategic and collaborative leader responsible for shaping, coordinating and advancing the work of one of the country's most respected post-16 partnerships. As government policy continues to reshape the education landscape, and with our partnership evolving to reflect a broader and more diverse college membership, we are seeking an ambitious Director to provide strategic leadership and take the partnership forward, ensuring it remains responsive, influential and focused on the changing needs of colleges and students.

The postholder will be able to demonstrate a strong educational background and preferably a qualified teacher. They will lead the partnership forward, collaborative activity, oversee the delivery of high-quality professional development, and support the sharing of expertise, innovation and best practice across member colleges.

Working closely with Principals, senior leaders and professional networks, the Director will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, strengthening organisational capacity and enhancing educational outcomes for students and staff across the partnership. Key duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Develop and implement the Partnership’s strategic priorities in partnership with member college Principals.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration, innovation and sector influence that support the Partnership's shared vision.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations to Principals.
• Ensure the Partnership remains responsive to emerging educational priorities, policy developments and sector challenges.
• Proactively identify emerging issues across the education landscape, ensuring they are brought to the attention of the appropriate group and translated into meaningful action.

Qualifications

• Strong educational background.
• Preferably a qualified teacher.

Requirements

• Part time 0.6 (FTE) - SFCA Leadership Scale L1-L4 (£60,449-£64,404) prorated.
