Role Description

Darden is hiring a research assistant for the Summer 2026 to synthesize and integrate methods information for graduate business methods classes.

• Locate and summarize academic literature on a variety of topics
• Write summary material of theoretical and philosophical texts with attention to how they inform research methods
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Very strong written and verbal communication
• Strong synthesis skills (reading and summarizing arguments)
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently while balancing multiple projects
• Familiarity with key theoretical and philosophical thinkers such as Hobbs, Rawls, Locke, Weber, Foucault, and similar preferred
• Graduate students are encouraged to apply
• Position is open to students in business, social sciences, humanities, philosophy or other disciplines with strong writing skills

Requirements

• Pay rate: $25/hour
• Position offers 10-25 hours/week during the summer

Benefits

• This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers
• The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs
