Role Description

This is a Part-Time Contract position and is not eligible for benefits.

Location: Remote

Dates: ASAP - 12/31/2026 with possible extension into 2027

Team: Tech Ops

Equipment Needed:

• Computer: A reliable desktop or laptop with good processing power.
• Webcam: For video conferences, if not built into your computer.
• Internet Connection: High-speed broadband with at least 100 Mbps download speed.
• Quiet Place to Work: A relatively quiet area where you can focus and attend meetings without interruptions.

Scope of Work:

The Technical Advisor serves as a cornerstone in nurturing the proficiency and confidence of our learners. With an emphasis on direct engagement, resource enhancement, and timely support, this role aims to create an environment where learners can seamlessly progress from understanding foundational concepts to mastering advanced skills in their chosen track.

The goal is to ensure learners feel supported throughout their learning journey and that the advisor can provide actionable feedback on topics covered, recommend additional resources, and guide learners in applying new concepts effectively.

• Weekly Hours: up to 10 hours
• Allocated hours to the tasks below may change based on business needs
• [~1 hour] Weekly office hours:
  • 1-hour drop-in session per week. These sessions facilitate spontaneous interactions and clarifications for learners.
• [~3–4 hours] 1:1 sessions:
  • Personalized sessions scheduled via Calendly to address specific learner questions and challenges. Never miss a scheduled session; if you must reschedule, notify the learner directly and DM your manager or post in the track collaboration channel for another advisor to follow up.
• [~2–3 hours] Response to questions:
  • Actively participate in the Technical Collab Slack channel, ensuring all inquiries are addressed within one business day. Update MMA and learners’ Learner Progress Notes (LPNs) regularly to maintain accurate, timely communication.
• [~1–2 hours] Content review:
  • Periodically review and refine learning content. Suggest curriculum improvements and supplemental resources to enhance learner comprehension and skill development.
• [~1 hour] Collaborative Team Discussions:
  • Engage in weekly team dialogues to share feedback, identify learner trends, and strategize on improving the overall learning experience.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in the track(s) you are supporting, with the ability to answer questions, provide guidance, and identify additional resources.
• Familiarity with digital collaboration tools (Zoom, GSuite, Slack, and other track-specific tools) is required for effective communication and learner support.
• Ability to actively listen, build confidence and communicate with learners and colleagues; maintenance of respectful communications and function as a reliable team member.
• Passion for empowering others, identifying resources, and adapting to changes in trends across learners, curriculum, and the tech industry.
• Ability to manage your schedule and prioritize multiple demands and make determinations based on content expertise, experience, and data.
• Highest standard of professional conduct and communication; articulate with strong self-belief and initiative; strong verbal and written communication skills, including public/virtual speaking (Zoom), are a must.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours (i.e., after 6 PM ET), evenings & weekends.
