Role Description
Accepting applications for the 2026โ2027 school year. Working from the home or office in Ohio, the Coordinator of Counseling Services will collaborate with the Manager of Counseling Services to implement a comprehensive counseling program based on the ASCA national model. The Coordinator of Counseling Services will become an expert on graduation requirements in order to support staff and families in helping each student graduate and realize their postsecondary goals.
The Coordinator of Counseling Services will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:

Work to implement various parts of the ASCA national model into the school year cycle for the school counseling team.

Implement programs for students and families related to social emotional development and support.

Keep abreast of all high school graduation requirements, including special requirements such as end-of-course testing, graduation seals, and other information shared by the Ohio Department of Education.

Help to ensure that the OHBCA course selection process is supporting the needs of students according to specific state credit and graduation requirements and student needs and interests.

Work with the administrative assistants to ensure that school records from the studentโs previous school have been received (as needed).

Support the implementation for the Ohio Graduation Plan for all students.

Partner with teachers, counselors and other school staff to support protocols related to the safety of OHBCA students and families.

Utilize data to identify students at-risk, and work on strategies to ensure safety.

Collaborate with school administration to support students who are failing, specifically students in the Academic Probation process.

Develop strategies to measure success of annual interventions.

Ensure that teachers and other staff have access to all needed resources to support students.

Work with school teams to identify and help families access school and community resources.

Generate ideas to increase engagement with OHBCA students and families.

Stay abreast of ethical standards and all state regulations related to incident reporting and documentation.

Support the counseling team in the implementation of postsecondary readiness programs, including Advanced Placement support, SAT and ACT Preparation, Career Technical and college admissions planning, scholarships financial aid; and financial aid workshops.

Understand the requirements to facilitate the administration of all high school testing, including End-of-Course exams, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams.

Support professional development activities for teachers and school staff members.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Ohio School Counselor license
-
Masterโs Degree
-
High School Counseling experience preferred

Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products)

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Team player with demonstrated leadership skills

Demonstrated ability to work well in fast-paced environment

Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel)
