[Hiring] Coding Educator @Southcoast Health System

Role Description

Join Southcoast Health as a talented Coding Educator, where you will perform a variety of duties both within and in support of the Coding and Compliance initiatives. Responsibilities include:

• Auditing medical records to ensure documentation supports the level of service.
• Ensuring documentation reflects the requirements of Local and National Determination Coverages.
• Developing and implementing educational programs.
• Initiating overall documentation improvement strategies.
• Orienting and auditing newly on-boarded providers and programs.

Candidate must be able to:

• Demonstrate a systematic, organized approach to tasks.
• Convey strict adherence to high standards and quality control.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coding Certification or the equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, education, or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of all aspects of coding is required.
• Strong understanding of coding guidelines, prospective payment systems, CMS rules, and OIG work plans is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• A minimum of 5 years progressive coding experience is required.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Requirements

• 40 hours per week.
• Day shift; 7:00am - 3:30pm.
• Position will be fully remote.

Compensation

Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience. Pay Range: USD $64,500.80 - USD $108,617.60 /Yr.
