Role Description

The Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section is seeking to recruit part-time professors distinguished by their expertise and who play a leading role in the legal profession. To teach this course, the candidate must:

• Hold an LL.L. or an LL.B. (or equivalent);
• Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, the bar of another province, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec;
• Have significant and relevant experience in the field related to this course and/or hold a graduate degree in this field and/or have contributed to research through academic publications demonstrating recognized expertise in this area;
• Experience teaching at a law faculty is an asset.

The Faculty reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet the criteria if their selection is in the interest of the program, the course, or the students, or for another related justification.

Qualifications

• LL.L. or LL.B. (or equivalent);
• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec or equivalent;
• Significant experience in the relevant field;
• Graduate degree in the relevant field (optional);
• Experience in academic publications (optional);
• Teaching experience at a law faculty (asset).

• Hourly Rate: $239.47 (2024-2025);

Benefits

• Teaching rates do not include vacation pay or statutory pay;
• Rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified; retro pay will be provided after ratification.
